Eric Cray bags six-peat in 400m hurdles, wins PH’s 27th SEA Games gold

Metro Manila (CNN Philippines, May 11) – Eric Cray on Thursday defended for the fifth time his 400-meter hurdles crown at the 32nd Southeast Asian Games in Phnom Penh, Cambodia.

The 34-year-old sprinter clocked 50.03 seconds in an eight-man race, beating his previous SEA Games record of 50.41 seconds.

It was Cray’s 6th straight win in the event. He won his first 400m hurdles gold at the 2013 SEA Games in Myanmar. He defended the title in 2015, 2017, 2019, and 2021 while also competing in other events.

His victory marked the Philippines’ 27th gold medal in the biennial SEA Games.
