
Metro Manila (CNN Philippines, April 24) – The two pilots of the Philippine Air Force (PAF) trainer aircraft that crashed on Monday morning in Lipa, Batangas are safe and undergoing treatment, said PAF spokesperson Col. Ma. Consuelo Castillo.
“Emergency responders were quickly dispatched to the scene for the successful extrication of the pilots,” Castillo said in a statement. “Thankfully, both pilots, after going through the mandatory medical checks, have both been declared safe and are undergoing treatment.”
Castillo said the SF-260FH basic trainer aircraft with tail number 033 encountered a “problem” at the upwind of Runaway 21 of Fernando Air Base in Lipa, Batangas.
“The aircraft is currently being recovered and assessed. Consequently, extensive investigation of the incident has been started to determine its cause,” the statement read.
She added that no casualties and damage were reported on the ground.
