“LTO, driving schools agree on price ceiling on lessons starting April\ \ 15 \n”

Metro Manila (CNN Philippines, April 14) — The Land Transportation Office and several driving schools nationwide made a consensus on Thursday to offer more affordable driving lessons beginning April 15.

The decision was reached during a meeting attended by the members of the Association of Accredited Driving Schools of the Philippines, Inc. (AADSPI), the Philippine Association of LTO Accredited Driving Schools, and other driving schools in the country.

No. JMT 2023-2390,\” said LTO in a statement.

[Translation: During the meeting, the participating driving schools expressed their support for the LTO’s call for fair and just rates and they also assured that they will follow the guidelines under Memorandum Circular No. JMT 2023-2390.]

The AADSPI earlier urged the LTO to postpone the implementation of the price cap on driving courses as it may lead to operational and financial challenges.

But the agency rejected the group’s call due to the public demand for cheaper driving lessons.

The LTO memorandum sets the maximum prescribed rate for theoretical and practical driving lessons for motorcycles at ₱3,500, and ₱5,000 for light vehicles.
