Metro Manila (CNN Philippines, April 10) — A total of 125,686 travelers were monitored in ports nationwide on Monday, according to the Philippine Coast Guard (PCG).

According to its latest figure, the PCG monitored 70,535 outbound passengers and 55,151 inbound travelers.

“The PCG has placed its districts, stations, and sub-stations on heightened alert to manage the influx of port passengers during the Holy Week from 02 to 10 April 2023,” PCG said in a statement.

The coast guard also deployed 2,774 frontline personnel in 15 PCG Districts and inspected 502 vessels and 1,005 motorbancas.

The “heightened alert” will also take effect until May 31 to “cover the length of summer vacation in anticipation of local tourists traveling by sea for recreational purposes,” the PCG said.
