The Apex Arrival: MotoGP riders visit PH

Metro Manila (CNN Philippines) — Monster Energy Yamaha MotoGP racers Fabio Quartararo and Franco Morbidelli graced local bike racing fans at a meet and greet on their two-day visit to the country.

The racing stars arrived on March 3 where they addressed the media and answered queries from thrilled fans at the Marriot Hotel in Manila.

On their first day, the racers also tried out famous local food such as adobo, balut, and halo-halo. They also had a photo opportunity with all the event attendees.

Later that day, Quartararo and Morbidelli were introduced at Yamaha’ s annual Branch Manager Convention as special guests.

At the convention, the international riders were joined by local Yamaha Philippine Racing Team members McKinley Kyle Paz, Gian Carlo Mauricio, and April King Mascardo.

Track Day and Exhibition Race

On March 4, the MotoGP riders flexed their skills on the track at the Clark International Speedway in Mabalacat, Pampanga with an exhibition ride.

Yamaha president Hiroshi Koike also joined the exhibition race with Quartararo and Morbidelli and local stars from Yamaha Racing Philippines’ team Paz, Mascardo, and Mauricio.

The racers also had a meet and greet with fans who flocked to the speedway to watch the exhibition race.

Yamaha is also set to introduce Paz, Mascardo, and Mauricio in the international racing scene this season. Paz is set to race at the FIM JRGP Moto2 European Championship in July while Mascardo and Mauricio will hit the Asia Road Racing Championship track beginning this March.

Through the brand’s Hero Creation campaign, Yamaha supports the next generation of riders who wish to follow in the footsteps of the MotoGP stars.
