Metro Manila (CNN Philippines, February 15) — Proving that he can pass the “distance test,” Batangas Vice Gov. Mark Leviste flew to the United States to spend time with Kris Aquino on her birthday, which coincided with Valentine’s Day.
He was the unnamed man Kris earlier mentioned in her post as part of her “wonderful support system,” thanking his efforts to spend a “few days” with her on her birthday.
“You need to be a very determined man of your word to fly 13 hours each way to spend a few days with me on my birthday,” she said.

“Although we have been apart, now that we’re together fills my heart. It is for this reason my love and my dear you will always and forever feel near,” Leviste wrote in his caption, noting the thousands of miles between the US and the Philippines.
“Happy Birthday to you and Happy Valentine’s Day to us @krisaquino!” he continued.
Hours before the photo, he posted a video of him approaching the car of the Aquinos where Leviste told the Queen of All Media: “You are so beautiful.”
Christina Perri’s “A Thousand Years” played as background music in the clip. It was captioned with: “Distance is just a test to see how far love can travel” — the same quote Kris used in her post.
Leviste’s selfie showed him side by side with the controversial TV host-actress seen wearing a pink shirt with the word “Love” on it.
She, however, clarified that the Batangas vice governor was just her “best male friend.”
“May we clarify- together physically in the same place… i appreciate all your effort (through the years) BUT please clarify that we agreed the best foundation for any & all relationships is FRIENDSHIP. i know i state with 100% accuracy, you’re my best male friend,” her comment read.

Leviste first reached out to Kris in 2019, responding to the actress’ invitation to single men aged 41–55 to add her personal Facebook account.
He recently spent New Year’s Day with Kris and her sons in California, where netizens noticed the 52-year-old celebrity is in “better shape.”

Kris has been diagnosed with four autoimmune diseases, three of which were discovered while she was still in the Philippines and the fourth when she moved abroad.
She said her first cycle of treatment will start before the end of February.
