Metro Manila (CNN Philippines, February 8) — The country will receive around 300,000 more bivalent vaccines from another nation, bringing to around 1.4 million the total number of donated doses expected to arrive in the Philippines, Department of Health (DOH) officer-in-charge Ma. Rosario Vergeire said.
Vergeire told reporters on Tuesday that the commitment from another country is on top of more than 1 million doses expected to be given by the COVAX Facility beginning end-March.
“Meron din isang bansa which we cannot name for now because the agreements are being finalized, pero magbibigay naman sila ng additional na 300,000 plus na doses,” she said in a media briefing.

She added that guidelines on the administration of bivalent vaccines will be released soon to local government units.
“Sa ngayon, meron na tayong concrete na plano para dito po sa [Right now, we already have a concrete plan for these] almost 1.4 million doses of bivalent (vaccines),” the official said.
Meanwhile, the government also continues to negotiate with manufacturers for supply, according to Vergeire.
