DOH records 1,012 new COVID-19 cases from Jan. 30 to Feb. 5

Metro Manila (CNN Philippines, February 6) — A total of 1,012 new COVID-19 cases were logged from Jan. 30 to Feb. 5, the Department of Health (DOH) reported on Monday.

In its weekly bulletin, the DOH said the daily average number of cases was 145, a 16% decline from previous week.

No critical infections were recorded among the new cases, while there are 388 critical patients in hospitals, representing 9% of total COVID-19 admissions nationwide.

The DOH also verified 85 deaths due to COVID-19, including 11 on Jan. 23 to Feb. 5.

As of Feb. 5, the country saw 4,073,827 total confirmed cases nationwide, with 9,378 active infections. Nearly four million people have so far recovered while 65,851 people died. 

Over 73 million individuals, or 94.55% of the target population, have been vaccinated against COVID-19. Around 21 million received booster shots.

Meanwhile, 6.9 million senior citizens, or 79.47% of the target A2 population, have been vaccinated with the primary series.
