
Metro Manila (CNN Philippines, February 3) — Award-winning Japanese author Haruki Murakami will be releasing a new novel after six years, publisher Shinchosa announced Thursday.

Shinchosa said the novel will be out on April 13 in Japanese – with translations following later on.

However, the plot and title have yet to be revealed.

The novel will be 1,200 manuscript pages long and will cost ¥2,970 or ₱1,239, according to Shinchosa. Both physical and e-book copies will be available.

This will be Murakami’s latest work since the “Killing Commendatore,” which was released in February 2017.
‘
Murakami debuted in 1979 with “Listen to the Song of the Wind,” which won the Gunzo Prize for New Writers in Japan.
‘
He also received awards for his novels “Norwegian Wood,” “The Adventures of Sheep,” “After Dark,” and “1Q84,” among others.
‘
His 2005 novel “Kafka on the Shore” was also recognized among the New York Times 10 Best Books that same year.
‘
Murakami’s literary works were also recognized in the 2006 Franz Kafka Prize, 2009 Jerusalem Prize, 2011 Catalunya International Prize, 2014 Welt Literary Prize, 2016 Hans Christian Literature Award, and 2022 Chino Derduca World Prize in France.
