Metro Manila (CNN Philippines, November 11) — Television personality Herlene Nicole Budol has withdrawn from the Miss Planet International pageant in Uganda, her manager Wilbert Tolentino confirmed on Friday.
“Due to uncertainties from the organizers, I have decided to withdraw Herlene Hipon Budol from the competition despite numerous attempt to fix some pageant debacles. It seems like the Ugandan Government has no initiative to intervene,” Tolentino said.
“This is indeed a traumatic experience for all of us, but we fought for it until the end. And that is our mission,” he added.
In another post, Tolentino said some candidates already backed out of the competition due to issues in vaccination, the Ebola virus, and accommodation.
The Czech Republic’s bet has also posted on Instagram that candidates had to pay for their own food and accommodation.
Pageant organizers have yet to release a statement.
