LTFRB to hold enforcement operation in Cavite for alleged overcharging

Metro Manila (CNN Philippines, June 6) — The Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) on Monday said it will coordinate with its enforcers in Calabarzon region to apprehend jeepney operators and drivers who allegedly charge beyond the minimum fare in some areas in Cavite.

“We will coordinate with our enforcers sa Region 4-A para mapuntahan po ‘yung area na ‘yon at magkaroon ng enforcement operation for overcharging,” LTFRB executive director Tina Cassion told CNN Philippines’ Newsroom Ngayon.

The operation is expected within the week, Cassion said. She added that similar operations were done before, especially in Metro Manila.

She urges drivers and operators in Cavite to not overcharge the riding public and stressed that fare increases need to go through a process.
