Metro Manila (CNN Philippines, October 10) — Contractual employees who have worked in the Pasig City government for at least 10 years will be regularized in a few months, Mayor Vico Sotto announced on Sunday.
In a series of tweets, Sotto said the move will benefit 1,097 contractual workers, or “practically all employees,” who have been in service for 10 to 15 years. The regularization will be effective in January next year.
“We started with those 20+ yrs in service. Now processing those 10+ yrs,” Sotto tweeted.
The mayor added that the latest batch will bring to 1,957 the total number of Pasig government workers regularized under his term, or since July 2019. Of the tally, 304 have been contractual workers for more than 20 years, while 556 have worked from 15 to 20 years for the city.
Sotto is seeking re-election in the 2022 polls, saying he needs more time in office to carry out the changes he wants in Pasig.
When this photo was taken last year, i was so happy. June 2020- isa sa unang bunga ng HR reform program natin, nakapag regularize tayo ng 100.
