PNP: ₱2.2-M worth of shabu nabbed from ambulance driver linked to detained drug lord

Metro Manila (CNN Philippines, January 1) — A ₱2.2 million worth of shabu was confiscated in Talisay City, Cebu Thursday from an ambulance driver and two other suspects.

The Philippine National Police Drug Enforcement Group in Cebu seized a total of 325 grams of shabu after launching a buy-bust operation at around 6 p.m. in Poblacion, Talisay City.

The three suspects were identified as Rodney Delfino, Edgar Quiachon, and Jamel Tabasa.

Delfino is said to be evading detection of his illegal drug activities by “using his authority as a frontliner,” the police stated.

PNP chief Debold Sinas said in a statement Friday that based on reports from PNP-DEG Director Police Brigadier General Ronald Lee, Delfino is linked to drug suspect Wesley Chua.

Chua was arrested with ₱10.4 million worth of shabu in February 2020 and is now detained in Cebu City jail.

Sinas also said that Chua is believed to still be operating his drug network through Delfino, who reportedly operates in the areas of Metro Cebu and nearby areas of Naga, Minglanilla, and San Fernando.
