Pacquiao graces The Ring Magazine cover

Metro Manila (CNN Philippines) — More than a month before what is said to be his farewell bout, boxing superstar Manny Pacquiao graces the cover of The Ring Magazine’s May 2016 issue.

The latest issue will tackle his decorated 21-year career, whose highlight is littered with 12 world championships in eight different weight classes.

It was the same magazine that named him Fighter of the Year thrice for his feral approach that allowed him to knock out Ricky Hatton in two rounds and send Oscar “Golden Boy” Dela Hoya into retirement.

The 37-year-old fighter was first featured on the magazine’s cover in 2004 before barging into the upper echelons of boxing.

The Filipino Pugilist will make his return to the ring almost a year after succumbing to a superior Floyd Mayweather Jr. in what became the richest fight in the history of the sport, this time against a familiar foe in Timothy Bradley.

It will be the third installment of the Pacquiao-Bradley saga. Pacquiao bounced back in a convincing fashion after dropping their first bout in a controversial decision.

The rubber match will be held in Las Vegas, Nevada on April 10 (PHT), barely a month before the May elections in the Philippines.

Pacquiao, the Sarangani congressman, is eyeing a seat in the Senate.
