Tarlac (CNN Philippines) — Screaming ladies scampered to get close to independent vice presidential candidate Sen. Antonio “Sonny” Trillanes IV on Friday (March 4) as he made his way through narrow alleyways of public markets in Tarlac.
Trillanes was in the province to court votes for his vice presidential bid.
People stopped him several times to take selfies or to hug him. Those who saw Trillanes said they’re voting for him.
The reason? His good looks.
“Pogi! Pogi! The best!” shouted one supporter.

Trillanes has visited several towns in Tarlac and so far, people seem to give him a warm welcome. But the question is, will this translate to actual votes?
At least in the town of San Manuel — its Mayor Benjamin Tesoro, a fellow Philippines Military Academy graduate of Trillanes, has pledged his support.
In the recent Pulse Asia survey, Trillanes finished off better at fifth place. Last time, he was at the bottom.

He admitted, though, that he’s still not satisfied with his standing.
“Kailangan pa naming umikot, magpakilala at umikot at kumayod. We still have two long months. We’ve been through worse situation,” he said.

Like the other candidates, Trillanes said the next two months would be spent going around the country and introducing himself.
