Manila Mayor Estrada files COC; to run against Lim

Manila Mayor Joseph "Erap" Estrada

Metro Manila (CNN Philippines) — Manila Mayor Joseph “Erap” Estrada filed his certificate of candidacy (COC) at the Commission on Elections office in Arroceros, Manila on Wednesday (October 14) in a bid to run for mayor once again under the Puwersa ng Masang Pilipino (PMP) party.

Estrada will run with Dra. Honey Lacuna Pangan as his vice mayor.

They’re up against former Manila Mayor Alfredo Lim, who’s running under the Liberal Party, and Manila 1st District Rep. Atong Asilo, Lim’s vice mayor.

During the oathtaking of PMP candidates on Tuesday, Estrada said the only one thing that will make him withdraw his bid for the Manila post is if opposition presidential candidates Grace Poe and Jejomar Binay will be disqualified from running.
