Davao City (CNN Philippines) — Davao City Mayor Rodrigo Duterte dismissed rumors that he was set to declare his presidential candidacy on Saturday (October 10).

In a hastily called news conference on Friday (October 9), Duterte clarified that there was no truth whatsoever that he would declare his candidacy for the presidency and that he would have a senatorial slate.

Duterte said that he still had no categorical statement to make on whether or not to run for president next year.

However, Duterte did admit meeting with his party mates at the PDP-Laban to craft guidelines and platforms for the 2016  presidential elections.

The mayor also said that he was only 20 percent bent on the presidency, 80 percent on seeking reelection, and 60 percent on retiring.

According to Duterte, his main concern remains to be Davao City.

He advised his supporters to just wait for the final days of the filing of the certificate of candidacy. He said that if they should see him on October 15 at the head office of the Commission on Elections, then he would be running for president.
