
Metro Manila (CNN Philippines) — “Chef Curry” is coming to town.
Steph Curry of the Golden State Warriors is making a one-day visit to Manila on September 5, Under Armour announced in a press release Wednesday (August 12).
The Manila stop is part of the Asian tour dubbed as “The UA Roadshow featuring Steph Curry.” The reigning National Basketball Association (NBA) Most Valuable Player will also visit Tokyo, Beijing, Chongqing and Shanghai.
“Together with Under Armour, I’m looking forward to sharing my energy and commitment to basket-ball with the fans and basketball players in Asia who will leave their mark on the game,” Curry said.
“China and the Philippines have a rich cultural connection to basketball, and I’ve heard the game is becoming more popular in Japan by the day. This will be an unforgettable experience and we have some special things planned for some of the best basketball fans in the world.”

According to Under Armour, the tour is “designed to connect Stephen with the people and culture of these diverse countries through up and close personal interactions. Stephen will showcase his relentless dedication to getting better and devotion to helping players everywhere realize their potential both on and off the court.”

Curry is coming off an MVP campaign in the NBA, averaging 23.8 points, 7.7 assists, and 4.3 rebounds in the 2014-15 season.
With his stellar play, the All-Star guard led the Warriors over the Cleveland Cavaliers in the NBA finals, giving the franchise its first championship since 1975.
