Metro Manila (CNN Philippines) — #PUSO2019 didn’t come through.
China beat out Philippines to become the host of the 2019 World Cup, FIBA announced on Friday (August 7).
Both countries each gave their final presentations at a gathering in Japan, but it was China who ended up winning the bid.
Filipino hoop fans voiced their opinions on Twitter after China was named as the 2019 host of the 32-team basketball conclave.

I
think FIBA wants assurances with those proposed infrastructures. Obviously,
it is one of the factors why Philippines lost bid. #PUSO2019
