Becky Hammon, the first ever female head coach in the of the National Basketball Association (NBA) Las Vegas Summer League, led the San Antonio Spurs to the tournament championship after defeating the Phoenix Suns, 93-90, on Tuesday (July 21 PHT) at the Thomas & Mack Center in Las Vegas.
Championship game MVP Jonathan Simmons and swingman Treveon Graham led the Spurs with 23 and 22 points, respectively, while Summer League MVP Kyle Anderson chipped in with 15 of his own.
Hammon and the Spurs finished the Las Vegas Summer League with a record of 6-1, only dropping their first match of the tournament against the New York Knicks.
