Metro Manila (CNN Philippines) — It’s official.
After initially agreeing on a four-year, $80-million contract with the Dallas Mavericks, National Basketball Association (NBA) big man DeAndre Jordan has opted to return to the Los Angeles Clippers on Thursday (July 9 PHT).
A move that the Clippers were quick to proclaim.

Jordan’s new deal is said to be worth $87.6 million for four years with a player option after the third season.
According to Yahoo’s Adrian Wojnarowski, the Clippers made a move after Jordan reportedly contacted head coach Doc Rivers about his uncertainty over his pending move to Dallas.
Clippers owner Steve Ballmer and Rivers, along with Blake Griffin, J.J. Redick, Chris Paul, and Paul Pierce, converged in Jordan’s home in Houston in order to convince him to re-sign with the Clippers.
The Clippers delegation reportedly camped out in Jordan’s home, effectively blocking Mavericks owner Mark Cuban’s efforts to contact the free agent.
And when Jordan was finally allowed to sign the new deal, his teammates took to social media to celebrate.
