Metro Manila (CNN Philippines) — A fishing boat carrying seven fishermen was reported missing at 10 p.m. last night (July 2).
According to Commander Neil Ascuna, station commander of the Philippine Coast Guard in Cebu, the boat came from Negros Occidental after the fishermen went on a fishing venture in the Panay-Bantayan Island area.
Ascuna added that the search and rescue operations started last night, but says the rescue team team is having difficulty in proceeding to the area due to the unfavorable weather.
