Metro Manila (CNN Philippines) — The San Beda Red Lions showcased their superiority over the Emilio Aguinaldo College Generals with a 108-80 victory on Thursday (July 2) at the San Juan Arena.
Art Dela Cruz led the Red Lions with 22 points, 12 rebounds, four assists, and two steals.
The Red Lions did not waste time early on as they blitzed the Generals to take an early 25-16 lead at the end of the first period.
The Generals had no answer for the Red Lions firepower as they found themselves overwhelmed by the Bedans, 108-80.
Despite winning in convincing fashion, San Beda coach Jamike Jarin still believes there is more to come from his squad.
“We’re never satisfied since there are a lot of things to improve on,” said Jarin.
Baser Amer and Ola Adeogun, who returned after missing the Red Lion’s opening game due to injuries, helped ensure that San Beda take the early lead in the standings.
Francis Munsayac paved the way for the Generals with 20 points, while Adoum Mbang chipped in with 17 points of his own.
In the second game, the Mapua Cardinals used a late fourth quarter rally to beat the San Sebastian Stags, 88-86.
