Metro Manila (CNN Philippines) — In case their commencement exercises are canceled due to bad weather on Sunday (June 28), outgoing students of the University of the Philippines (UP)-Diliman can expect to graduate via text.

The university’s 2015 Commencement Guide, which was posted on the UP Diliman website, explained that the administration of UP Diliman will be sending out text messages confirming the conferment of degrees should inclement weather disrupt graduation rites.

According to the guide, UP will be issuing six weather bulletins in preparation for the rites on Sunday. While the first advisory was sent Monday (June 22), five more are expected to follow — one on Saturday (June 27) and four on the day of the commencement exercises at 1:00 a.m., 3:00 a.m., 4:00 a.m., and 5:00 a.m.

If the rites won’t push through, its cancellation will be announced via text and shall read:

“From Chancellor Michael L. Tan: ‘As of TIME, DATE, the 2015 UP Diliman General Commencement Exercises IS CANCELLED. The Office of the President conveys the conferment of your degrees. Thank you and keep safe.'”

Arrangements were also made for on-site announcements of cancellation and in case graduation rites are cancelled in the middle of the program due to bad weather.

The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA), meanwhile, announced on Tuesday (June 23) that the rainy season has officially started.
