Metro Manila (CNN Philippines) — All players who want to apply for the 2015 Philippine Basketball Association (PBA) Rookie Draft have to go through the Developmental League (D-League).
Unless they suited up for the national team.
The league is requiring local-born players to play at least seven games in the D-League to become eligible.
The Fil-foreign applicants, meanwhile, also has to play at least seven games each in two conferences.
They have until June 30 to complete their application and submit documents proving their citizenship.
Players must be at least 21 years of age to be eligible for the draft.
“I’ve seen a lot of new talents in the D-League so I’m pretty sure that the coming PBA season will be a lot more exciting,” said outgoing commissioner Chito Salud in an article posted on the league’s website.
“I think by this time, some PBA teams have already identified their prospects.”
