
(CNN Philippines) — There have long been allegations of corruption at FIFA but someone finally took action.

On Wednesday (May 28), 14 people were indicted on federal corruption charges, being accused of racketeering, wire fraud and money laundering conspiracy “as part of a scheme that spanned more than two decades,” according to the U.S. Department of Justice.
Switzerland also opened a separate criminal investigation, focusing on 2018 and 2022 World Cup bids.

Since the news broke out several people, including sports personalities, have reacted and expressed their disbelief on the controversial FIFA issue on social media.
