Alex Eala breezes past French foe in São Paulo Open
Metro Manila, Philippines - Alex Eala aced her first test following her historic victory in Guadalajara, Mexico.
The 20-year-old Eala made quick of Yasmine Mansouri of France, 6-0, 6-2, in the Round of 32 of the WTA 250 São Paulo Open on Wednesday, Sept. 10 (Manila time) in Brazil.
The São Paulo Open, which marks its return to the WTA calendar after a 25-year absence, is the highest level of women's tennis professional tour competition in Brazil.
Now ranked 61st in the world, Eala only needed one hour and 10 minutes to secure the victory.
Eala will battle world No. 188 Julia Riera of Argentina in the Round of 16 on Thursday, Sept. 11 (Manila time).
