Metro Manila, Philippines - Justin Brownlee played the hero again as he carried Gilas Pilipinas to a 95-88 overtime win over tournament host Saudi Arabia to advance to the quarterfinals of the 2025 FIBA Asia Cup on Tuesday at the King Abdullah Sports City in Jeddah.

The 37-year-old Brownlee sank a clutch three-pointer with 3.7 seconds left in regulation to tie the game at 79-all and send the match to an extra period. He finished with 29 points, five assists, four rebounds, and one block.

"As a player, you know, these are the games you dream about and you really look forward to playing," Brownlee said moments after the triumph.

Down by six points with 1:24 remaining in the fourth quarter, Brownlee and AJ Edu made crucial buckets to keep Gilas within striking distance.

Kevin Quiambao knocking down a pair of triples plus a dagger trey from Edu in overtime were enough to seal the victory for Gilas and eliminate the opposing home team.

Quiambao had 17 points and three rebounds, while Edu posted a double-double of 17 points and 12 rebounds for the Philippines.

Dwight Ramos also contributed 13 points and nine rebounds for Gilas.

The Philippines will next battle two-time defending champion Australia in the quarterfinals on Wednesday, Aug. 13, at the same venue.
