Cagayan was submerged in floods on Friday due to Tropical Storm Crising.

Metro Manila, Philippines - Two people were reported missing, victims count tens of thousands from Tropical Storm Crising and heavy rain, government data showed on Saturday, July 19.

The National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRMCC) said it is validating reports of two missing people in Western Visayas.

It said the enhanced southwest monsoon or habagat impacted over 37,000 families or at least 96,000 people, mostly from Western Visayas and Ilocos region.

NDRRMC data showed at least 30 roads and bridges were impassable.

On Saturday, the Department of Public Works and Highways said three national roads are closed to traffic because of soil collapse, rockfall, and landslide: Kennon Road (Tuba, Benguet); San Vicente - Savidug Chavaya - Sumnanga-Nakanmuan Road (Sabtang, Batanes); and Dancalan - Candoni - Damutan Valley Road (Candoni, Negros Occidental)

The Metropolitan Manila Development Authority also reported flooding in Manila, Quezon City, Valenzuela, Pasay, Mandaluyong, and Navotas.

The weather bureau said “Crising” left the Philippine Area of Responsibility on Saturday morning but it warned people up north to be alert for its residual impact.
