Metro Manila, Philippines - Renewing your driver’s license just got easier. Motorists no longer need to visit Land Transportation Office (LTO) branches after the agency officially launched its Online Driver’s License Renewal System, now accessible through the eGovPH mobile application.

“This is a better alternative for going to LTO offices since you don’t need to shell out money for transportation to our offices and don’t even need to queue in any license renewal offices,” LTO Chief Asec. Vigor Mendoza said in a statement, urging motorists to take advantage of the service.

Transportation Secretary Vince Dizon emphasized that the online renewal system will also prevent the public from dealing with fixers.

Here are the steps to avail of the online driver’s license renewal:

1. Download the eGovPH app from the App Store or Google Play and complete the account verification.

2. Tap the NGA icon and select LTO.

3. Choose Online Driver’s Application > Renew Your Driver’s License.

4. Upload a photo of the front and back of your current license.

5. Wait 1–3 minutes for system validation.

6. Review and verify your details, then submit.

7. Take a photo following the required photo format provided in the instructions.

Before proceeding, users are advised to prepare two key requirements— the Online Medical Examination via telemedicine providers linked in the app and the Driver’s Enhancement Program (DEP), a five-hour online refresher course also accessible via the platform.

Renewed licenses can be picked up at the nearest LTO branch or delivered to the applicant’s address.

Information and Communications Technology Secretary Henry Aguda assured that the e-driver's license generated in the eGovPH app is legally valid, particularly when physical cards are unavailable. The agency will work with law enforcement units to ensure the digital version is accepted during checkpoints and inspections.
