Visa-free entry to Taiwan extended for another year
Metro Manila, Philippines - Filipino travelers can still visit Taiwan without a visa up to next year. Taiwanese Foreign Minister Lin Chia-lung made the announcement during the celebration of Philippine Independence Day hosted by the Manila Economic and Cultural Office in Taipei.
The minister said the extension aims to deepen people-to-people ties and further strengthen bilateral relations.
Taiwan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs said an official announcement on the extension will be issued Monday, June 16.
According to the latest Philippine Statistics Authority data, around 415,000 Filipino tourists visited Taiwan in 2023. Taiwan is also home to some 160,000 Filipino migrant workers.
