Metro Manila, Philippines - Fewer Filipinos expressed trust and satisfaction in the performance of President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. and Vice President Sara Duterte in the third quarter, according to an independent survey.

In a survey released on Wednesday, Nov. 5, Octa Research said the president’s trust ratings dropped by seven points from 64 percent in July to 57 percent in September.

Distrust on the president was also higher by five points at 25 percent.

Duterte’s trust ratings, meanwhile, were three points lower from 54 to 51 percent. The vice president’s distrust score was 24 percent.

In terms of performance, Marcos suffered a huge blow from 62 to 54 percent.

The survey showed that the president’s performance ratings declined across regions, especially in Metro Manila and the Visayas.

Duterte’s performance score in September was slightly unchanged from 50 to 49 percent.

The country’s highest officials shared similar dissatisfaction ratings at 26 percent.

“Even with the observed declines, President Marcos Jr. continues to enjoy majority trust and approval among Filipinos, maintaining both ratings above the 50 percent mark. In contrast, Vice President Duterte-Carpio’s trust rating remains within majority levels, but her performance rating slipped slightly below the majority, now at 49 percent,” said Octa Research.

Around 1,200 respondents participated in the survey held from Sept. 30 to Oct. 4 – a period hounded by investigations into the flood control mess. It has a ±3% margin of error.
