Marcos orders early release of year-end bonus, cash gift for government workers - Palace
Metro Manila, Philippines - Malacañang announced that President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. has ordered the Department of Budget and Management (DBM) to release the year-end bonus and P5,000 cash gift for nearly two million government workers this month.
Palace press officer Claire Castro said the early release is part of the administration’s effort to value public servants, especially ahead of the holiday season.
“Sa ilalim ng administrasyon ni Pangulong Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr., maagang maipamimigay ng DBM ngayong buwan ang year-end bonus at 5,000 pesos cash gift sa mga kawani ng gobyerno,” she added.

Castro said for the current fiscal year, the government has set aside P63.69 billion for year-end bonuses of civilian and uniformed personnel and P9.24 billion for the cash gift, benefiting more than 1.85 million employees nationwide.
In a separate statement, Budget Secretary Amenah Pangandaman said that under Budget Circular 2024-3, the benefits shall be released “with the first agency payroll of November 2025.”
Eligible workers include regular, contractual and casual employees, whether full-time or part-time, who have rendered at least four months of service from Jan. 1 and remain in government service as of Oct. 31.
The DBM said funds for these benefits were already comprehensively released at the start of the fiscal year, allowing agencies to process the bonus earlier and without delay.
