Undas 2025: Metro Manila LGUs list road closures, alternate routes

Metro Manila, Philippines - Local government units (LGUs) in a number of cities across Metro Manila have announced temporary road closures and alternative routes in preparation for All Saints’ Day and All Souls’ Day.

The cities that have announced road closures are Manila, Marikina, Pasig, Mandaluyong, Makati, Pasay, Parañaque, Navotas, and San Juan.

In Manila, the Manila Police District announced that several roads will be closed from Oct. 30 at 10 a.m. to Nov. 3 at 7 a.m.

Road closures:

+ Blumentritt St. from A. Bonifacio to Aurora Blvd.

+ Dimasalang St. from Retiro St. to Calavite St.

+ Maceda St. from Makiling St. to Dimasalang St.

+ Southbound lane of Dimasalang Bridge

Aurora Blvd. from Felix Huertas Rd. to Matandang Sora (Chinese Cemetery South Gate)

Alternate routes:

+ Vehicles from Dimasalang Road going to Blumentritt Road should turn right on Makiling St. toward their destination.

+ Vehicles from Quezon City using A. Bonifacio Ave. should turn left on Labo St. toward their destination.

+ Vehicles from Maceda St. heading to Dimasalang St. or Retiro St. should turn right toward their destination.

Marikina announced road closures and traffic adjustments will be implemented from Oct. 31 at 6 a.m. to Nov. 3 at 12 midnight.

+ One-way traffic on A. Bonifacio Ave. (eastbound)

+ One-way traffic on Sumulong Highway (eastbound)

Pasig announced road closures will take effect from Oct. 31 at 2 p.m. to Nov. 1.

A one-way traffic will be in place on C. Raymundo Ave. (northbound) from E. Angeles St. to Mercedes Ave.

Alternate routes are on Stella Maris St. and Dr. Sixto Antonio Ave.

Mandaluyong announced road closures and traffic adjustments will be implemented from Oct. 31 to Nov. 2 in these areas:

+ Martinez St. in front of San Felipe Neri Cemetery (eastbound and westbound)

+ Aglipay St. in front of Garden of Life Cemetery (eastbound and westbound)

+ One-way traffic along Aglipay St. from Parada to Boni Ave.

+ One-way traffic on Parada and Hernandez Sts. from P. Cruz to Aglipay

Alternate routes:

+ Vehicles from Boni Ave. to Kalentong should turn right on Ortigas St., then left on T. Bernardo St., and continue through P. Gomez and A. Luna Sts. to Aglipay.

+ Vehicles from Kalentong to Boni Ave. (eastbound) may use the westbound lane in front of San Felipe Neri Cemetery.

+ Vehicles from Ilino Cruz St. bound for Kalentong should take Aglipay Extension through Boni Ave.

+ Vehicles from Kalentong St. bound for Aglipay or Paradise Cemetery should take Boni Ave. and turn right on P. Cruz.

+ Vehicles from Barangay Namayan or J. Rizal going to Boni Ave., city hall, or Shaw Blvd. should take J.P. Rizal, then Coronado St., and turn left on San Francisco St.

In Makati, road closures will be implemented from Oct. 31 to Nov. 2.

Road closures:

+ Kalayaan Ave. from Zapote St. to N. Garcia St.

+ South Ave. from J.P. Rizal to Metropolitan Ave.

+ Vito Cruz Ave. Extension from South Ave. to Zapote St.

+ Pililla St. from Baler St. to Kalayaan Ave.

Alternate routes:

+ J.P. Rizal Ave. from Makati Ave. to Chino Roces Ave. will be a two-way road.

+ Zapote St. from J.P. Rizal to Kalayaan Ave. will also be a two-way road.

+ Vito Cruz Ave. Extension from Chino Roces to Zapote St. will be one way eastbound.

+ Metropolitan Ave. from South Ave. to N. Garcia St. will be one way.

In Pasay City, roads will be closed onHidalgo St. from Arnaiz Ave. up to M. Dela Cruz St., near the Roman Catholic Cemetery, effective from Oct. 31 to Nov. 2.

Alternate routes:

+ Vehicles from Makati along Arnaiz Ave. will be rerouted toward the north of Edison St., then westbound to their destination.

+ Public utility jeepneys from Protacio St. on M. Dela Cruz St. will be rerouted toward Esguerra St., then to Tolentino St., and on to Arnaiz Ave.

Road closures in Parañaque will be enforced from Oct. 30 to Nov. 2.

Road closures:

+ Bonifacio Extension (from Kabihasnan to Palanyag Mercury Freight)

+ Tramo St.

+ Tramo Dos

Road closures in Navotas will be carried out from Oct. 31 at 12 p.m. to Nov. 2 at midnight on Gov. Pascual St., from A. Ignacio St. to A. Santiago St.

In San Juan, road closures will be in effect from Oct. 31 to Nov. 2. A one-way traffic will be implemented in front of San Juan City Cemetery up to 2nd Ave., near Camp Crame, with rerouting operations on Col. Bonny Serrano Ave.

Meanwhile, the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) urged commuters leaving Metro Manila for the provinces to depart early to avoid rush-hour traffic, follow terminal regulations, and report any suspicious activity to ensure safe travels.

The MMDA also reminded the public to bring essential items such as mats or chairs, umbrellas or raincoats, cleaning materials, extra clothes, identification cards, and other necessities for the safe observance of Undas 2025.
