Metro Manila, Philippines - The PBA officially welcomed Pureblends Corporation as its newest member entering its 50th season, which begins this weekend.

Pureblends will be called the Titan Ultra Giant Risers.

The announcement of the league's approval of Pureblend's buyout of the NorthPort Batang Pier franchise was made during the press conference for the golden anniversary on Wednesday, Oct. 1.

Emilio Tiu was introduced as the Ultra Risers team governor.

Former Terrafirma Dyip mentor Johnedel Cardel will be calling the shots for the Titan.

Retained by Pureblends from the NorthPort lineup are Calvin Abueva, Joshua Munzon, Cade Flores, Fran Yu, Jerrick Balanza, Aljun Melecio, James Kwekuteye, Damie Cuntapay, with new additions Von Pessumal, Jeo Ambohot, and rookies Chris Koon and Mario Barasi.

Meanwhile, ex-NorthPort head coach and team manager Pido Jarencio will now serve as the Terrafirma team governor.

The PBA Season 50 Philippine Cup tips off on Oct. 5 at the Smart Araneta Coliseum in Quezon City.
