Magnitude 5.1 quake jolts off Cebu
Metro Manila, Philippines – A magnitude 5.1 earthquake struck off Cebu on Sunday, Sept. 29, the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (PHIVOLCS) said.
PHIVOLCS upgraded the quake as it was initially magnitude 5.
Based on PHIVOLCS’ bulletin, the tremor, with a 11-kilometer depth, hit 16 kilometers southwest of Poro town at 2:53 p.m.
The quake was tectonic in origin.

+Candijay, Duero, Inabanga, President Carlos P. Garcia, San Miguel, Sierra Bullones, and Talibon in Bohol
+Baybay City, Hilongos, Hindang, and Matalom in Leyte
Intensity 3
+San Fernando in Cebu
+Garcia Hernandez in Bohol
+Albuera, Merida, and Palompon, and Ormoc City in Leyte
+Sogod in Southern Leyte
Intensity 2
+Argao in Cebu
+Isabel, Javier, and Villaba in Leyte
+Hinunangan and Hinundayan in Southern Leyte
Intensity 1
+Carigara, Dulag, and Matag-ob in Leyte
Aftershocks may occur while damage is not expected.
