Aldin Ayo out as Converge head coach
Metro Manila, Philippines — The Converge FiberXers have decided to part ways with head coach Aldin Ayo and assistant coach McJour Luib, the team announced on Thursday.
The development came a few weeks before the beginning of the PBA's 49th season.
“It was a mutually agreed decision for both parties to part ways,” FiberXers team manager Jacob Lao said in a statement. “We are thankful for their dedicated service to the team for almost two years.”
Converge only managed to win three games last season and was dead-last in the team standings of both the Philippine Cup and Commissioner's Cup.
Having the worst record in the league, the FiberXers secured the right to draft the top overall pick in this year's PBA Draft in former De La Salle University stalwart Justine Baltazar.
Ayo last called the shots for Converge at an invitational tournament in Kadayawan, Davao City last weekend.
