Metro Manila, Philippines – The Philippines is sending 22 athletes to the Paris 2024 Olympics, which will run from July 26 to August 11.

This is the biggest Philippine delegation that will compete in the Summer Games since the 1992 Olympics in Barcelona.

Filipino athletes will aim to surpass the country’s medal haul at the Tokyo 2020 Olympics, which was highlighted by a historic gold from weightlifter Hidilyn Diaz alongside two silver and a bronze.

Here are the athletes who will don the red, white, and blue in France:

EJ Obiena

EJ Obiena, ranked second in men’s pole vault in the world, is out to prove himself again as he tries to bounce back from an 11th place finish at the Tokyo Olympics.

The 28-year-old, also the Asian record holder, has a realistic chance of bagging the gold as he continues to soar in the international scene.

Carlos Yulo

Carlos Yulo is returning to the Summer Games where he will be competing at the men’s all-around artistic gymnastic.

Yulo placed fourth in the vault event at the Tokyo Olympics.

Nesthy Petecio

Nesthy Petecio made history after becoming the first Filipino female Olympic medalist in boxing when she settled for silver at the women's featherweight division at the Tokyo Olympics.

The pride of Davao del Sur will have another golden shot at the Paris Olympics. She will be one of the country’s flag bearers in the opening ceremony.

Carlo Paalam

Carlo Paalam, a boxing silver medalist at the Tokyo Olympics, will be aiming for a stronger finish in the men's featherweight category at the Paris Olympics.

He will join Petecio as flag bearer in the opening ceremony.

Eumir Marcial

Tokyo Olympics bronze medalist Eumir Marcial will be eyeing a better podium finish in men’s boxing as he squares off in the middleweight division at the Paris Olympics.

Aira Villegas

Aira Villegas, a bronze medalist at the 2019 Southeast Asian Games, will be stepping onto the Olympic ring for the first time where she will be competing at the women's flyweight category.

Hergie Bacyadan

Hergie Bacyadan will be fighting at the middleweight division. Before becoming a boxer, Bacyadan already won medals in wushu and vovinam.

John Cabang Tolentino

John Cabang Tolentino will run in the men's 110-meter hurdles. He won the bronze medal for the same event at the 2023 Southeast Asian Games.

Lauren Hoffman

Lauren Hoffman will be competing in his Olympic debut at the 400-meter hurdles, the same event where she currently holds the national record.

Samantha Catantan

Samantha Catantan broke the country's 32-year drought in Olympic fencing as she will be seeing action at the women's foil event in fencing.

She won multiple medals at the Southeast Asian Games since beginning to compete in 2017.

Bianca Pagdanganan

Golfer Bianca Pagdanganan is returning to the Olympics after finishing 42rd at the Tokyo Olympics.

Dottie Ardina

Dottie Ardina joins Pagdanganan as the country’s representatives in women’s golf.

The 30-year-old previously qualified for the Rio Olympics in 2016, but was forced to withdraw from the tournament due to the threat of the Zika virus.

Aleah Finnegan

Aleah Finnegan, who was previously a part of the US national team, will now raise the Philippine flag as she competes in the women's all-around event in artistic gymnastic.

Emma Malabuyo

Like Finnegan, Emma Malabuyo was also was included in the US national team before she decided to represent the Philippines.

She will be competing at the women's all-around event in artistic gymnastic.

Levi Ruivivar

Levi Ruivivar is the Philippines' third gymnastics representative in women's gymnastics.

She will also be competing at the women's all-around event in artistic gymnastic.

Kiyomi Watanabe

Judoka Kiyomi Watanabe is setting her sights to the podium after an early exit at the Tokyo Olympics.

Joanie Delgaco

Joanie Delgaco made history when she became the first Filipino female rower to qualify in the Olympics. She will be competing at the women's single sculls event.

Jarod Hatch

Jarod Hatch, a Southeast Asian Games multi-medalist swimmer, will be competing at the men's 100-meter butterfly event. He holds the national record for the same event.

Kayla Sanchez

Kayla Sanchez is making her Olympic debut for the Philippines after switching federations in 2023.

The swimmer first represented the country in the 19th Asian Games where she finished fifth at the quadrennial continental event.

John Ceniza

Two-time Southeast Asian Games silver medalist John Ceniza will try his luck in the Olympics for the men's 61kg weight division.

Elreen Ando

Elreen Ando is set for an Olympic return this year. She will aim to surpass her seventh-place finish at the Tokyo Olympics.

The 25-year-old Cebu native weightlifter is the Southeast Asian Games record holder after nabbing the gold in the regional meet last year.

Vanessa Sarno

Two-time Southeast Asian Games gold medalist Vanessa Sarno will be competing in the women's 71kg weight division in weightlifting.
