Tippy Dos Santos’ mom dies in car accident in South Korea

Metro Manila (CNN Philippines, December 31) — The mother of singer-actress Tippy Dos Santos died from injuries sustained in a car accident while on vacation in South Korea.

A statement confirming the death of Happy Esquivias Dos Santos was posted on her Facebook page on Saturday.

"Our beloved Happy passed away after suffering injuries from a traffic accident in Seoul, Korea. She fought for her life, but in the end, the Lord decided to bring our beloved Happy home. The hurt of this loss to our family is indescribable and we will miss her every single day," the statement read.

She was 58.

Tippy's parents Happy and John figured in a vehicular accident shortly after arriving in Seoul for a short vacation last Dec. 27. Happy was brought to the ICU after the incident and lapsed into a coma, while John was recovering.
