Venus Raj marries non-showbiz partner: 'The right time has finally come'

Metro Manila (CNN Philippines, December 12) — Miss Universe 2010 4th runner-up Venus Raj has entered a major chapter in her life as she married her non-showbiz partner on Tuesday.

"Today is the day that the Lord has made," she wrote on Instagram.

The former beauty queen did not name her partner whom she described as a "man of God."

Raj, a devout Christian, said in her previous social media post that "the right time has finally come."

"For eight years, God allowed me to be single. Since I have fully surrendered my life to Jesus, I have never entered into a romantic relationship. I asked Him to protect my heart and to keep it until the right man comes," she said on Instagram last Dec. 10.

"In the process, I have devoted my single years in serving the Lord, serving communities, and serving my family," she added. "God is indeed the giver of good gifts, He knows His timeline for my life, and the right time has finally come."

Moreover, Raj encouraged single people to keep on praying.

"If you are still single and praying to the Lord for marriage, please know that God hears your prayers and He knows the desires of your heart," she said. "The answer might be wait, yes, or no, but one thing is for sure, He knows what's best for you. Trust His process."
