Celebrities, netizens show support for KathNiel after split
Metro Manila (CNN Philippines, December 1) — Netizens and fellow celebrities expressed their support for Kathryn Bernardo and Daniel Padilla after the long-time couple announced their breakup.
The two confirmed their split on Thursday by posting separate statements on their Instagram, days after netizens speculated on the status of their relationship.

"God bless the broken hearts #kathniel," Comedian Vice Ganda, also known to be a family friend of Padilla, wrote on X (formerly Twitter).
The comedian also commented on Padilla's post saying, "Yakap na mahigpit Deej!"
"I think the most painful part is realizing a person was just meant to pass through one's life. Never to stay," Actress Bela Padilla said on X.
"For us who watched them grow up together, acceptance and kindness in everything we say or do," she added.
"Dama ko 'yung bawat salita sa post ni Kath," DJ Chacha also said. "They're both hurting. Let's give them space they need."
"Tita Baby is sad. Pero ganoon talaga," Actor John Lapuz, who played the role "Tita Baby" in one of their movies "Must Be... Love," wrote on X.
Bernardo and Padilla confirmed their relationship in 2018, but in an interview with Director Cathy Garcia-Molina, the couple said they have been together since 2012 – towards the end of the television series "Princess and I."
Amid the heartbreaking news, fans continue to reminisce moments of the couple together.
"I already felt this breakup a long time ago, and now I'm rooting for a new ending," an X user said, posting a break up clip from their movie "The Hows of Us."
"The most heartbreaking thing ever as a fangirl. Kathniel is my very first love team to admire in and off cam. And now, I'll also cherish the decade of kilig, love, and support through ups and downs," another user wrote.
The infamous couple did a number of blockbuster movies such as "She's Dating The Gangster (2014)," "Crazy Beautiful You (2015)," "Barcelona: A Love Untold (2016)," and "The Hows of Us (2018)."
Their last project together was the 2022 television series "2 Good 2 Be True."
Bernardo recently worked with Golden Globe nominee Dolly de Leon for the film "A Very Good Girl (2023)."
