Metro Manila, Philippines – Passengers at Ninoy Aquino International Airport’s (NAIA) Terminal 2 now have more reasons to explore the departure area before boarding, with new restaurants, cafés and shops offering more places to dine, relax and pick up last-minute purchases.
Five dining and retail establishments were formally launched at the terminal’s North Wing departure airside, bringing together familiar food brands and a travel retail store across two levels. The establishments include Kenny Rogers Roasters and Seattle’s Best Coffee on the second floor, and Paris Baguette, General’s Lechon and Travel Hub on the mezzanine level.
One of the area’s attractions is its cozy mezzanine dining space, with large glass windows overlooking the passenger waiting area below. Travelers can enjoy a meal or coffee, see the movement downstairs, and keep track of their flights through a nearby flight information display.
Travel Hub adds a shopping element, with a wide selection of Filipino pasalubong, gifts, snacks and personal items, giving passengers an opportunity to pick up something for family and friends or themselves before their flight.
The new dining and retail options represent a significant improvement for Terminal 2’s North Wing departure airside, which had limited food options when New NAIA Infra Corp. (NNIC) took over airport operations in September 2024.
Some of the establishments had already begun serving passengers ahead of the formal opening. Together, they form part of the Food. Fly. Fun. concept, combining dining and shopping options in an area that previously offered travelers few choices after clearing security.
The expansion is part of NNIC’s broader program to improve passenger facilities at NAIA, with additional dining and retail establishments being introduced alongside upgrades to airport infrastructure and operations.
NNIC has since undertaken improvements to terminal facilities, boarding areas, transport access and wayfinding, while working to increase flight handling capacity and improve on-time performance. System-wide on-time performance reached 81.09% from January 1 to October 13, 2026, compared with 77.72% during the same period last year.
The improvements come as NAIA handles passenger volumes well beyond its original design capacity of 35 million annually. The airport served a record 52 million passengers in 2025, underscoring the need to expand facilities and improve operations while keeping the airport fully operational.
NNIC assumed operations of NAIA under a public-private partnership agreement to operate and modernize the country’s main international gateway.
