249 OFWs from Riyadh to return to PH this week — OWWA

Metro Manila, Philippines – The Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA) announced Sunday that 249 overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) from Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, are expected to return to the Philippines this week.

OWWA said 349 OFWs are covered by current repatriation arrangements, with flight bookings for 100 of them still underway through the agency and the Department of Migrant Workers (DMW).

The first batch of 34 OFWs departed Riyadh on Saturday evening for Prince Naif bin Abdulaziz International Airport in Al Qassim and boarded a flight to Doha, Qatar, on Sunday morning. From there, Qatar Airways flight QR 934 will fly them home, arriving at 8:15 a.m. on Monday, Oct. 19, at Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) Terminal 3.

Meanwhile, the remaining 215 OFWs with confirmed flight bookings are scheduled to return to the country between Oct. 19 and 25.

Upon their arrival in Manila, OWWA said its Repatriation and Assistance Division is on standby to provide airport assistance, transportation, temporary shelter, and domestic flight tickets to their respective home provinces.
