Metro Manila, Philippines – A former security aide of an ex-House speaker detailed the alleged delivery of gifts and suitcases with millions in cash to Vice President Sara Duterte, former President Rodrigo Duterte, and Davao City Rep. Paolo Duterte.
Dismissed patrolman Rodulfo Gracioso Jr. submitted an affidavit to the National Bureau of Investigation that was accompanied with photos and videos.
He recently surfaced and identified himself as an aide of then House Speaker Lord Allan Velasco.
Gracioso said it was at this time that he began delivering gifts and suitcases with millions of cash to then Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte, in particular more than 10 times in 2018 to 2020 totaling ₱2 billion.
He submitted photos and videos to back up his connection with Duterte.
The vice president denied knowing Gracioso and receiving money from him, according to a statement from the Office of the Vice President.
“Once we are done dismantling the lies contained in his testimony, it will end up in the trash bin just like the one from Ramil Madriaga,” Duterte was quoted as saying, referring to another self-confessed bagman for her.
“This is nothing more than another media stunt, an attempt to breathe life into a faltering impeachment case,” she added.
