Metro Manila, Philippines – Tropical Storm Pilandok slightly decelerated as it moved east-northeastward over the Philippine Sea early Wednesday, Sept. 2, according to the state weather bureau.
As of 4 a.m., Pilandok was located 1,205 kilometers east-northeast of Extreme Northern Luzon.
It has maximum sustained winds of 65 kilometers per hour near the center and gustiness of up to 80 kph.
It was moving east-northeastward at 10 kph, with strong to gale-force winds extending up to 580 kilometers from its center.
No Tropical Cyclone Wind Signal is currently hoisted over any part of the country.
PAGASA said Pilandok is forecast to remain a tropical storm as it moves northwestward throughout the forecast period and is expected to exit the Philippine Area of Responsibility early Thursday, Sept. 3.
Despite remaining far from the Philippine landmass, the weather bureau warned that heavy rainfall and strong winds may still be experienced in some areas due to the effects of habagat.
