Metro Manila, Philippines – President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. has declared special non-working days in several municipalities, cities, and provinces across the country to allow residents to participate in the celebration of their founding anniversaries, fiestas, and historic commemorations.
Under Proclamation Nos. 1262 and 1263, both signed on May 21, June 17, 2026 was declared a special non-working day in the Municipality of Quirino in Isabela and the Municipality of Maco in Davao de Oro, respectively, in celebration of their founding anniversaries.
The same day was also declared a special non-working day in Lapu-Lapu City for its 65th Charter Anniversary under Proclamation No. 1276.
June 18, 2026 was likewise declared a special non-working day in six municipalities: Ambaguio, Nueva Vizcaya (Proclamation No. 1266); Kalilangan, Bukidnon (Proclamation No. 1269); Carmen, Davao del Norte (Proclamation No. 1270); Presentacion, Camarines Sur (Proclamation No. 1271); Calintaan, Occidental Mindoro (Proclamation No. 1272); and San Fernando, Bukidnon (Proclamation No. 1277).
The municipalities will celebrate their respective founding anniversaries on the said date, except for Presentacion, Camarines Sur, which will mark its 65th Charter Anniversary.
Under Proclamation No. 1268, June 1 was declared a special non-working day in the Municipality of Palapag, Northern Samar, in observance of Sumuroy Day honoring the heroism of Agustin Sumuroy, who led one of the earliest revolts against Spanish colonial rule in the 17th century.
Meanwhile, under Proclamation No. 1273, June 3 was declared a special non-working day in the Municipality of Ayungon, Negros Oriental, for the celebration of its 102nd Township Anniversary.
President Marcos also declared June 6 a special non-working day in Zamboanga del Norte under Proclamation No. 1274 in celebration of its 74th Founding Anniversary, and June 9 in the Municipality of Rosario, Batangas under Proclamation No. 1275 for its Founding Anniversary.
Further, under Proclamation No. 1278, June 19 was declared a special non-working day in Laoag City, Ilocos Norte, for its Charter Anniversary, while Proclamation No. 1279 declared June 24 a special non-working day in the Municipality of Tiaong, Quezon, for the celebration of its town fiesta.
