Metro Manila, Philippines – The Embassy of Switzerland in the Philippines and Swiss industry partners recognized top Filipino innovators during the Swiss Innovation Prize Competition 2026, highlighting student-led solutions in technology, healthcare, manufacturing, and construction.
Now on its third edition, the competition received more than 140 applications from across the country and shifted this year toward industry-based clusters aligned with real-world business and societal challenges.
The competition focused on three major categories: IT-BPM, Life Sciences and Digital Health, and Manufacturing and Construction.
Organizers said the initiative aims to strengthen collaboration between industry and academia while supporting young Filipino innovators.
“Switzerland, consistently ranked as the world’s leading country for innovation according to the Global Innovation Index, launched the Swiss Innovation Prize to promote a culture of innovation,” organizers said.
The finalists came from universities across Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao and underwent workshops, mentoring sessions, and company visits hosted by Swiss firms operating in the Philippines.
Among the top winners were Skill Bridge PH from Ateneo de Manila University for the IT-BPM cluster, STEMI Flow from Cebu Institute of Technology-University for Life Sciences and Digital Health, and SIBOLution from Mindanao State University-Iligan Institute of Technology for Manufacturing and Construction.
Winning teams received cash prizes of up to P100,000 per cluster.
The Swiss Embassy said the program reflects Switzerland’s commitment to innovation, sustainability, and practical solutions with “real economic and societal impact.”
