(CNN Philippines) — Disney’s latest adventure film Tomorrowland was ambitious in every sense of the word.
Yet it still fell short in impressing the imagination of its moviegoers.
In Tomorrowland, a brilliant teen with so much scientific curiosity Casey (Britt Robertson) seeks the help of middle-aged inventor Frank Walker (George Clooney) upon possessing a pin which takes her to mysterious place somewhere in time and space.
The two will be later on joined by Athena (Raffey Cassidy), a robotic headhunter, responsible for distributing the pins.
Together they embark on a journey to uncover the conspiracies surrounding the futuristic version of the Earth.
It takes a while for the movie to take off as it presents on too many details to be comprehended.
Director Brad Bird, a two-time Oscar winner, once again showed his brilliance with special effects, high quality production, stunning visuals, and design.
The film’s attempt to present a message about resilience and optimism went far to being preachy to some extent.
All the characters did a decent job in portraying their roles.
