(CNN Philippines) — Barely two weeks away from the showdown between Manny Pacquiao and Floyd Mayweather Jr., the Philippine Postal Corporation (PHLPost) is releasing special limited Pacquiao postage stamps starting Monday (April 20).
PHLPost revealed that they will only produce 500,000 copies of the special “Fight of the Century” stamp – featuring Pacquiao in a fighting stance – which boxing fans and stamp collectors can avail at P10 each.
Aside from the stamp, a total of 30,000 copies of the souvenir sheet will also be sold at P40 each.

PHLPost postmaster general Josie dela Cruz says the stamp is a “fitting tribute to his exceptional character and ability that truly unites the nation whenever he fights.

The design was first approved by the Philippine Stamp Committee composed of representatives from the National Commission for Culture and the Arts (NCCA), the Philippine Philatelic Federation (PPF), and the National Historical Commission of the Philippines.
PHLPost in-house artist Rodine Teodoro did the lay-out of the Pacquiao regular stamps, the souvenir sheets and official first day cover.
This is the second time PHLPost highlighted Pacquiao on a postage stamp – the first in 2008 as a prelude to his bout against David Diaz.
It was the first time a Filipino athlete was immortalized in stamps.
