Metro Manila (CNN Philippines, September 26) — Japanese actor Mackenyu Arata, who starred as Pirate Hunter Zoro in Netflix’s live adaptation of “One Piece,” will visit the country to headline the Manila Pop Culture Convention (Manipopcon) this November.
Manipopcon announced on Tuesday that Mackenyu is among the special guests who will hold a meet and greet with fans at Ayala Malls Manila Bay in November.
“To all my Filipino fans out there, I’m happy to share that I’ll be appearing at the ManiPopCon in Manila on November 17th to the 19th. See you guys there,” the actor said in a video.
Mackenyu has also played characters in other adaptations of popular manga series, including “Tokyo Ghoul S,” “Rurouni Kenshin: The Final,” and “Knights of the Zodiac.”
He will celebrate his 27th birthday on Nov. 16, a day before the start of the Manila event.
